Rainy Season Is Here!
Hey there — welcome back to Inside The Lehenga Life.
Let’s talk about the not-so-glam side of running a small business during monsoons. While we all romanticize the rains — those occasional dips in heavenly showers, chai moments, and peacocks dancing — the reality for us (and many other business owners) is... a little soggier.
For starters, being based in Surat means most of our customer base is scattered across the Mumbai-Ahmedabad belt. And let’s be honest — no one wants to go lehenga shopping when it’s pouring like the sky’s in a mood. Water-logged roads and squelchy shoes? Nope, thanks.
So when footfall slows down, we quickly shift focus — from store visits to online queries. The grind doesn't stop; it just moves platforms.
Then there’s the real monster: logistics.
Customers want their parcels on time — and rightfully so. But during monsoons, delays happen. Porters don’t want to get drenched. Highways flood. And even if India were gearing up for a war, someone in Jammu would still DM us, asking why their blouse hasn’t shipped. We get it — expectations are fair, but sometimes even the best planning bows to nature.
Anyway, enough of the rants. Go kick a football, chase the petrichor, or find yourself a beach (with less mud).
Happy Monsooning — and see you next time!
