The skirt alternates two fabrics, kali by kali — one panel plain viscose silk, the next viscose Banarasi. You see it before you can name it: the light moves differently across every second panel, so the flare reads as texture rather than pattern. It is a quiet idea, and it does more than embroidery would.

The work is deliberately restrained. Cutdana, bead and zari sit as small butis up the panels and gather into a deep band at the hem, leaving the two weaves room to do their job.

Ivory is where this design is at its most legible — with no colour competing, the difference between the two weaves is all you see.

Viscose silk blouse and silk dupatta, with a kamar belt and latkans.
