Deep wine viscose tissue silk under golden cutdana — the tissue already carries a sheen of its own, so the gold sits on a ground that is quietly reflecting light back at it rather than swallowing it. That is why this reads warm rather than heavy despite how much work is on it.

The skirt is built in ogee cartouches, each one holding a single floral buta, stacked panel by panel up the gher. The hem closes in tiered bands — a run of roundels, then a deeper band of leaf motifs — finished with a scalloped edge. The matching tissue silk dupatta is scattered with fine work and bordered to match.

Wine is the colour for a bride's sister or a reception entrance that does not want to compete with red, and it holds up under evening lighting better than most deep tones.
