Velvet, but not the heavy kind. The lavender skirt is worked in white dori florals so densely at the waist that it reads almost ivory, then lets the lavender come through as it falls — kali panels, a scalloped arch tier, a lattice band at the hem. The blouse holds the deeper velvet tone, and the net dupatta repeats the dori florals along a scalloped edge.
