Across an off white soft silk ground the whole lower half becomes a garden — cranes standing among palms, birds mid-flight, flowering shrubs and coral-like blooms, drawn in resham in peach, lilac, sage, mint and coral. Above them, sequin and zari fall in long willow strands from the waist, so the top half reads as light and the bottom half as landscape.
The colour range is the achievement here. Most multicolour work leans on strong contrast; this one stays entirely in a soft register — nothing shouts, and the scene holds together as one picture rather than a scatter of motifs. Stone work is set through the detail to catch light where the thread cannot.
Soft silk falls with weight but without stiffness, so the flare moves. The dupatta is a blush pink, scalloped and embroidered to match — warm against the cool of the skirt rather than repeating it.
