The skirt is built as a grid. Squares of pastel net — peach, sage, cream — set into a butter yellow ground, each one holding a single silver-gold floral medallion, the whole thing gridded off in beaded lines like a window. Nothing repeats in the same order twice as it goes round.
The hem breaks the grid: deep scalloped fans worked edge to edge in silver, which is what stops the patchwork reading flat and gives the flare an ending.
Yellow is the haldi colour, and this is a version of it that does not look like a costume — warm enough for the morning function, worked enough to carry into an evening.
Net throughout, with a matching net dupatta scattered with sequin and bordered to match. The blouse ships semi-stitched and can be tailored to a full sleeve.
