The same design in rani pink — raw silk under heavy cutdana, bead, zari, stone and resham, worked densely enough that the silk shows through only between motifs. Long jhumar strands hang down the front panel, and the hem builds into arched jharokha panels with peacocks and deer standing inside them, each figure picked out in coloured resham against the gold.
Rani pink is the answer for a bride who wants full bridal weight without red. It carries gold as well as red does, photographs vividly under evening light, and reads as a decision rather than a default.
The raw silk blouse is worked front, back and sleeves. It comes with two net dupattas, both heavily bordered, so one can be draped over the head and the other across the shoulder.
